The Birds and The Bees of Neo-Futurism…

Listen, I think it’s time we had a talk. The talk. About where Neo-Futurists come from. Forget what you’ve heard about storks and storefront theaters – this is a story about speed, brevity, Italians and an art movement with a blind baby from the future glinting in its eye. With me so far? No? Ok…you know what, why don’t you just enroll in our upcoming March 13th intensive about the origins of Neo-Futurism with The Neo-Futurists’ Founding Director Greg Allen?

Italian Futurist Performance: The Origins of Neo-Futurism will introduce you to the theory and history of the Italian Futurist movement, show you how it inspired and informed Neo-Futurism, and give you the chance to rehearse and perform a series of short Italian Futurist plays, just like the original group of Neo-Futurists did when they premiered Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind.

The Details: This class takes place March 13th, 7:00-10:00 pm, in our theater. Tuition is $60. No experience necessary, spaces limited. Contact Education Coordinator Jessica Mondres with questions (jmondres @ neofuturists.org).

You can do this, too.

Interested in taking a class? Our ensemble members teach Neo-Futurism throughout the year at our home space in Chicago. We can also come to you. Find out more about enrollment, hiring teachers, and scholarships.
