A Dialogue Between a Southsider and a Northsider.

North: We’re going all the way to Pilsen?

South: It’s not ‘all the way to Pilsen’, just Pilsen. You wanna get really South, we can go scope out Beverly. Now, the show starts at 7 at Dvorak Park. That means we’ve got time to get goat tacos at Birreria Reyes de Ocotlan.

N: Yum, goat.

S: Yeah, there’s like three things on the menu and it’s all solid. Best red salsa I’ve had in forever.

N: Yum, goat.

S: Yeah, we’ll have to walk it off a bit, so we’ll scope out the murals on 16th street. They stretch from Western Ave to Halsted, so there’s a lot to see.

N: Cool.

S: After that, we can either go to Harbee’s for some banging micheladas-

N: Micheladas are…?

S: A Mexican beer, usually Tecate or Modelo with a little salsa, lime, and ice, in a beer glass with a salted rim. Or we could go hang with the cool kids at Punch House

N: I hear it look’s like a dad’s basement.

S: You don’t know anything about my dad’s basement.

N: Uh, ok.

S: Or we could go traditional and get a frozen margaritas at Perez Restaurant

Sometimes, on a special night, there’s a woman singing Juan Gabriel’s hits with a tiny karaoke machine.

N: Sounds like we’ve got a good night ahead of us.

S: Yeah, let’s go!

They jump on their bikes and head South.

Curtain.
