Making Quick Work Quicker: 1,000 Experiences for 1,000 Plays

June 29 - August 3
Thursdays, 7-10pm

Price: $200

*This class is now full. Email to be placed on a waitlist.*

*The class of Thursday 7/20 will be held on Wednesday 7/19*

How do you create work in the moment that feels full? How can you stage the impossible? How can you stage the stupid? How do you write from your experience, while still having the experience?

In this workshop we will investigate  how elements of risk, pressure and spontaneity can create  meaningful/ immediate work.

Other goals of the workshop:
-Engaging and experimenting in writing that seems counter intuitive, absurd, and irreverent.

-Getting past writer’s block

-Developing unique performer/audience relationships

” Note: This class is a workshop. An experiment that us as teachers and the students will go on together.  While students will leave with tangible work, the greatest take home from the six weeks is hopefully inspiration and an experience of experimentation above all else. To make a bizarre  analogy, when the students leave after six weeks  they will have the feeling of  leaving a museum and not the feeling of leaving a department store.”
