Tangles & Plaques began as a play at The Neo-Futurist Theater to engage audiences about dementia with a spirit of accessibility, vitality, and play. From the success of that show, and a Creativity Connects Grant awarded by the NEA, the artists behind that work have created Remembering Dementia, an intensive workshop in conversation with the content and mission of Tangles & Plaques.

In the workshop, Kirsten Riiber (Tangles Creator, Neo- Futurist Ensemble, and Memory Care Director at Bethany Retirement Community) presents a lively lecture-as- performance while attendees participate in immersive activities facilitated by the other members of the team.

Remembering Dementia is an opportunity for anyone to learn more about dementia, explore their personal relationship to memory, and gain practical skills that can be used to offer better care to those living with memory impairment.

All are welcome! No experience necessary.
