John Wilson (Scenic Design/Technical Director) hustles as an artist, scenic designer, educator and actor in Chicago. His paintings and murals can be seen throughout the Chicago Land area. Since 2001 he has designed scenery for over 100 productions in Chicago and won the 2015 Non-Equity Jeff Award for Best Scenic Design for Byhalia, Mississippi with New Colony and Definition Theater. The production was remounted at Steppenwolf later that summer of 2016. Past Neo Futurists shows include Tangles and Plaques.
He is a company member with Collaboraction, which focuses on theater experiences that incite change in his community, and an artistic associate and mentor for The Yard. He wishes to thank Kate, Slim, everyone at the Neos, and Emily for all her love and support. He is a graduate from the School at Steppenwolf (’08), and was born in Longview a few years back in Texas.
