Neo-Lab presents: Tangles & Plaques, The Second Showing
March 11th, 7:30pm
In its second showing, Tangles & Plaques continues the attempt to demystify the experience of dementia in the language of theatre — offering a participatory experience that is unique to each audience and different every night. Ensemble Member Kirsten Riiber and Memory Care Director Alex Schwaninger conduct a symphony of impossible tasks and egregious forgery; with the audience's help, the cast interrogates the idea that a memory can be re-created and become more meaningful when shared with a room full of strangers.
The Arrow Cleans House ::: Sundays @ 3pm in February
February 5 - 26 2017
After a year of one-night-only performances (like The Arrow Quits Smoking, The Arrow Cracks, The Arrow etc etc...), The Arrow launches into its next run (round? iteration? episode? chapter? apartment?) entitled as The Arrow Cleans House, featuring weekly shows in February, every Sunday at 3pm. Created by ensemble members Kurt Chiang & Lily Mooney, The Arrow subjects written essays to spontaneous interruptions, complications, absurdity and horse(& bird)play.
April 28 - June 4 2016
CLOSING WEEKEND. Exploring the tension between fiction and non-fiction, Jessica Anne’s Mike Mother weaves theater, writing, and film into the lies that cripple memories, the truth that haunts our tales, and all the gaps in between. Mike Mother is a poetic dumpster dive into Jessica Anne's childhood, a lyrical picture of motherhood thrown to the wolves. Equal parts psychological thriller, live-action-film, and genre-bending performance, Mike Mother laser-focuses Jessica Anne's signature style into a torrent of language that slices away at her past in an attempt to create something new.
Neo-Lab Presents: A Workshop Performance of Saturn Returns
March 7 2016
After we turned from the vastness of the cosmos back to ourselves, we found we'd all landed in the untidy moments that send tremors through the sense of control we have over our own lives.
THE ARROW QUITS SMOKING
November 19 2015
Furthering The Neo-Futurists’ dedication to collaborative creation and experimental structure, Neo Ensemble Members Kurt Chiang and Lily Mooney launch The Arrow. The Arrow is a quarterly storytelling show that subjects written essays to spontaneous interventions. In each performance, an ensemble of writer-performers will question, interrupt, and add to each other’s work, pushing beyond their first creations in search of something else: something more honest and more live.
